Note that cracking St. Xavier’s entrance exam is tough. About 10 thousands student compete for 504 seats. Even best performing students might not get through. Take it easy, there are good colleges (even better in terms of result that St. Xavier’s) and you can always claim scholarships. As of 2020, the questions asked in St. Xavier’s College entrance exams for grade 11 are generally from the topics you have studied in grade 8, 9 and 10. College does not ask questions from grade 11 syllabus (as many bridge course institute claim). Having said that, questions are tough and difficult to crack in the limited time. Preparing for St. Xavier’s can be confusing. Not all questions are tough. However, math and physics questions can be tricky to solve within the given 75 minutes. If you are applying for biology group, your questions might be relatively easier. There is no negative marking. So, you can attempt as many questions as possible (at least 25% chance will always be there).

St. Xavier’s college can enroll as many students as they want, but they don't do. In my view, it is mainly because producing huge number of almunai is not its thing. St Xavier’s wants perfection. They do what they want with high value, and making market to value what they produce. If they produce thousands of almunai per year, there would be high supply leading the value of its own fall, as it is now for engineers. So they enroll what they can nuture and makes them the best leader that the situation demands.
Coming to entrance, it is not so hard. The thing is you have to fit in what SXC is searching. They prepare entrance question in a way which distingiush the people they want and give a next chance to them who they don't (reject). It simple but you need basic and simple but logical mindset to tackle. So if you are capable, you are pass else go search another college. That's it. And if you are thinking of entrance preparation classes and later appearing in entrance, its a good choice but i don't think being in SXC for you is helpful. You won't enjoy the life there. Better learn yourself first and then give a hundred percent in what you want. You can excel.
